Spalding Arts & Crafts Society

About Us

Spalding Arts and Crafts Society is proud to be one of the oldest established societies for visual arts and craftwork in the country. It was founded in 1916 by surgeons at the Johnson Hospital in Spalding for recovering soldiers wounded in the First World War. Spalding Town Council sponsored their first exhibition in 1918.

Now the Society continues to thrive, having over 100 members. Members exhibit their work locally and there are monthly demonstrations by notable professional artists from all over the country, where there is usually an audience of 60 plus.

See the Membership page for details of how to join, and fees.
